I bought this watch to replace a Casio I had misplaced. I am working in Iraq as a contractor and I hear how hot is it all the time. This watch seemed to have it all in one . The thermometer is not accurate at all,not even close. Other than that it is a Casio and dependable.

this is a heck of a watch for the money I spent more for much less at wallmart couple years back.
I will never use all the features but as a simple chronometer it is well worth the cost, I have to say the thermometer is goofy at best.
I will research it and try to make it actually work otherwise I might take off another point as a working thermometer would be handy.

The case on this watch broke after a month. The edge of the watch that connects to the wristband pin snapped off. This watch case is not rugged at all. I was able to fix it with superglue and it has been fine since the repair however. I work as a gardener in the Palm Springs, California area and purchased the watch to monitor summer temperature readings at work. There is a popular review in Amazon that states the key to owning the watch is to calibrate the temperature gauge. Yes, that is true if you use the watch for indoors situations. In outdoor situations of over 100 degrees your arm will act as a giant cooling condensor lowering the watches temperature by up to 10 degrees. The hotter it gets the less accurate the reading is while the watch is being worn. Calibration of the temperature gauge is useless on this watch due to the wide swings of the daily temperature at my workplace. Yes, if you use the watch for indoor areas, calibration of the watches temperature gauge may be a good idea but in my situation I found it totally useless. In cold weather my arm acts as a heater making the watches temperature gauge useless. If you take the watch off your arm it can be useful to monitor the temperature which is the only way I would use it. This Casio watch likes to swing wildly on temperature readings for some reason. I have a digital temperature/humidity gauge that I purchased at Walmart for 6 dollars and it does a better job at reading temperatures than this Casio watch.

This is a nice watch. However, as some reviewers have mentioned, the bezel is not protected at all. I solved this problem by trimming a screen protector to fit; I bought this one: Case-Mate Screen Protector Film 3 Pack for iPhone 3G, 3G S but any screen protector should work. I doubt the screen protector would stay on if I went swimming with it, though.
The thermometer seems to be reasonably accurate. Some reviewers have complained about the thermometer being affected by their skin temperature, but I don't think I've ever seen a thermometer that *wasn't* affected by the temperature of the surface it was sitting on, with the exception of the ones with remote sensors, which isn't what I want in a watch. I just take the watch off and let it sit for a little while when I want to see the temperature. (I normally wear the watch on my belt, where the position is too inconsistent for calibration to work, so I can't comment on that.)
The hands sometimes block the digital display, but it generally isn't too hard to look around them.
The price on this watch was $33.11 when I bought it; I think it is an excellent watch for that price, even with the added expense of a screen protector.
