The Atomic Solar Mudman by Casio is mud-, dust-, and shock-resistant enough to survive whatever Mother Nature throws your way. Solar power and multi-band atomic timekeeping make this a great watch for keeping time on the trail. The 46-millimeter case is constructed from durable resin that stands up to typical wear and tear. Comfortable and sporty, the Mudman also features a date-and-month display and is water resistant to a depth of 660 feet.

I bought this watch 18 months ago. It has been working fine, so far (not exactly atomic precision and whatever balloni, but a reliable sports watch). The problem is with the battery. Casio claims the battery will be recharged by sunlight and that is misleading. The night light went off after about 9 months and the battery died after about 18 months. I am not claiming a universal solution, but when you promise a battery that doesn't need to be replaced, you better deliver. Otherwise, customers are left with a bitter taste. I could spend $30 for a watch that requires battery replacement.

Like the title of the review says. This watch has everything that you could need in a watch. Atomic time, solar, rugged, and looks good. You can throw anything at this thing and it will take it. You can't go wrong with this one.
For those who who think the buttons are too hard to push, that's by design, mud, silt, sand, etc. don't have a chance of entering the case.

I love g-shocks. I wear them on duty and they are tough as nails. Saw this new model and decided to give the subdued look a try. What I quickly found out was there are several bumps on the underside of the watch. Apparently to allow water to rush under and keep to your wrist; however, they have raised bumps on them which make wearing the watch painful after a few hours. I cannot get used to the feel so I went back to my Luminox. The light button is very stiff and I have to press it several times just to get it to work. All of the buttons are stiff and difficult to use for that matter.
I did like the band and the double pin (for lack of a better term) which secures the band much better than the singles seem to do.

Great watch...easy configuration of atomic synchronization, very intuitive features and solid design. Solar feature works great...ambient room light and sunlight keep it fully charged with no change in daily routine or special actions required beyond storing it in a position that allows it to gather light. Small footprint makes it ideal for rugged environments as bulkier watches I've owned often caught on surfaces and equipment while transiting vehicles or moving in tight spaces. Only criticism is the waterproofing of the watch has caused the control buttons to be a bit difficult to push when wearing gloves or when finger dexterity has been compromised by the weather.

The last G-shock's battery started to die after I don't know how many years so I needed a new one. G-shock makes a great every day watch that's sturdy & easy to wash off. Love the solar atomic part so it's always the right date & time. My son loves the old watch even though the light doesn't work anymore. Love it.
