Nice watch overall for the price but I returned it. I didn't want or need the thermometer vs. wanting the compass, as I can't really see that the thermometer would be of any practical value to me. The compass works well and can use declination input.
The size of the watch is good, some of the displays are a bit too small for me. I liked the various alarms and a 2nd time zone. But the Countdown Timer which I wanted to use A LOT, can ONLY be set in full minutes, not portions of minutes. This was the deal breaker for me after trying to work with full minutes only, but which changed my exercise routine too much. The manual is not clear on this as it does say that the timer can be changed to count down from 1 minute to 23 hrs 59 minutes, so I thought that would include all the seconds in between as well.
Otherwise for the price it's a better watch than many out there.

Worth every penny, I'm satisfied with this watch. Casio never fails in quality and durability, this is not my first Casio and for sure it won't be the last one.

I wanted a cheap sports watch from Casio to wear all the time, without being too concerned in case it is stolen. I like the way this one looks, and I like the features, including the backlight, which illuminates the digits only - subtle and effective. And it is not too expensive for what it does (I paid $43). It's also comfortable to wear.
The compass is a bonus. It's not accurate enough for sailing or mountain climbing, but gives me good directions when I'm walking or driving around in an area I don't know well. The drawback is the calibration process, it is cumbersome, and doesn't seem very reliable to me. And the more expensive Pathfinders don't need it every 3 months, so why does this one?
The material is not the best either. The case is made of plastic, which means the grey area near the buttons will probably fade over time. The case back is metallic though, and fixed with screws - making battery replacement easy. The bezel also seems to be metallic, but surely very thin.
The only thing I miss a bit is a databank. Every digital watch should have a 20 or 30-page databank to store some phone numbers, in my opinion. And it shouldn't be too hard for Casio to add that feature to this watch at a few more cents. But it's not a big deal, anyway.
Another thing to notice is that the button layout is different from all other Casios I had: it doesn't have a front button for the backlight, so this function is activated by the top right button. And the split/reset is on the top left.
Don't count on the thermometer. I have never known a Casio watch that displays the correct temperature unless I take it off my wrist for 20~30 minutes - and this one is no exception. Just makes no sense.

have had multiple timex watches but wanted to try casio - as i've heard much about them. the watch hasn't disappointed. their world clock feature is excellent. have had similar features in the past but i never used it. the thermometer is not 100% accurate - but it's also worn directly in contact with your body. the digital compass has been helpful, but for some reason, the compass reading won't display for longer than just a few seconds... so hit the compass button and pay attention. have recommended the watch to my friends.

Casio SGW100 is an amazing watch. Compass/Temperature is 99.9% accurate. It is pretty stylish and light weight, because of it having five different alarm options my daily schedule has been organized. It also has world time, Stopwatch, timer and it is also shock/water resistant. With all these options it is very cheap and affordable.
