 "Love the look" 2009-10-26
By Dana G. (Texas, United States)
I bought this watch because I seemed to favor my cheap digital Timex Ironman that I picked up at Target a few years ago. This watch is my "house" watch. Nothing special to look at; it is black and pretty basic looking but has a digital face (easy at-a-glance info) and an Indiglo night light. I wanted a watch that was more stylish so I wouldn't feel goofy when I went out and about. So I searched and found this clear digital watch.

I didn't want a white plastic band, as those tend to get dirty and never come clean. So far this clear band is working out great. I looked into Swatch again, because they have such great designs, but I wanted a digital face, and Swatches all have the classic dial face.

I read many reviews of this watch prior to buying and most of them said that there are too many functions for this watch. This is so true. I have never owned a watch that was so complicated, and I have a Polar heart rate monitor watch. That watch is easy by comparison. So after finally setting this Baby G-Shock watch to the time, I knew that was pretty much it for me as far as how I would use this watch. The chronometer (timer) and light are the only other functions I use. Don't ask me about the contact list or world time functions, because it is far too complicated to deal with.

I wouldn't recommend this to somebody for a sports watch, calculator, or anything else. This watch is strictly for looks.

"Great watch, but the color fades" 2009-09-24
By Juji (Pittsburg, CA United States)
I love Baby-G's, they are great durable watches. I never took this watch off and I was lucky to have bought it during Casio's "AllasOne" campaign, so when I use the LED light, the background has a whale diving into water as well as a little dolphin swimming in the upper right circle. The only thing that makes me sad, is that because I wore it all the time (shower, swimming, sun, rain) the watch (not the band oddly enough) turned an ugly yellow dingy color. If I had only taken it off during days at the beach maybe it would still look like new.

I'm satisfied with my purchase. The watch is as cute as in the picture. I also find the features like worldwide times, contact modes, stopwatch + the shark animation cool. The manual is also user-friendly. Real value for your money!

 "Good watch" 2009-10-24
By Chris, CA
I been Casio's royal customer for over 30 years. (lots watches) Even I owned many other brands watches for different occasions, but Casio always stay as my main day to day life watch. I was introduced to this line by my friend just last year (I been using databank and calculator types most of time), and after comparing the pricing, Amazon has the best price, so I purchase both blue and pink color Baby-G over a year ago. I am happy to say that the watches work well and live up to my expectation. However, like other has mention, the color faded few months after I have it. It's not as pretty as new, but to me a watch's function is more important. Each of my Casio stayed with me for many years until I am tired of spending money changing the belt or batteries. I don't remember any of them die on me, I am taking one star off for the color issue. Overall, a nice watch to own.

 "Excellent product" 2009-09-14
By b.link
This watch is durable, waterproof and has lots of handy features. Casio watches have a reputation for being long lasting reliable watches which is why i purchased this product and i am glad that i did. I highly recommend it to anyone. I had previously brought other watches from other extremely expensive brands (like fossil) but they only last maybe 1 or 2 months because the band breaks or the metal/plastic/glass components fall off! but this is definitely not the case with casio watches. This is a high quality watch.

I love my new casio baby-g watch. I like the fact that the watch face is protected against scratches. I am always hitting my watches on things and they end up getting damaged, this is very tough watch . I love the pretty blue color

 "Nice Girl's Sports Watch" 2009-06-28
By Hank (Pasadena, CA United States)
I bought this Casio Baby-G for my college age daughter whose older Baby-G finally wore out after 11 years (crystal scratched, band worn, battery dead). This new Baby-G has a strong plastic band and the color is beautiful. The only thing I personally don't like is the adjustment buttons. They still seem too stiff and hard to adjust (need to press hard). And, the second time mode is not particularly useful in my opinion. Otherwise, the watch is fine and low cost.

 "Don't buy! Casio doesn't honor waranty" 2009-06-24
By Sweet Cheetah (Omaha, NE)
I had this watch for 11 months when one of the buttons fell off. I returned it to Casio, thinking that they would honor the waranty, but NO! They wanted to charge me $40 to glue the button back on, and they wanted to charge me $7.95 just to return the watch to me broken! They gave me some lame excuse about why a button that is vital to the functioning to the watch is not covered under waranty, but the bottom line is: I provided the receipt and all of the info that they required but they said that the button is not part of the parts that is covered. BOGUS! Do not waste your money.

"Love it, but one downside" 2010-01-02
By Edward Miller (Philadelphia, PA)
I received this as a gift from my husband. He was told that this is the perfect watch for people who are tough on their watches and need something sturdy. I love the Baby G as well as my G-Shock.The only problem is with this "jelly" version. It got filthy under the face where you can see through and it is difficult to clean (you have to take the watch apart). Also, the color faded everywhere on the watch from the great light pink to a coral/peachy color :(

However, I have two other watches that aren't see through and I love them!

"Attractive watch but alarm function is lacking!" 2009-11-14
By Harry Williams
I purchased this watch for my wife primarily because it had an hourly signal which she wanted. The watch is very attractive and she loves the way it looks. The main problem with the watch is that the hourly signal and the alarm signal are both so low (lack of volume) that you can't hear them unless the watch is next to your ear. Consequently, the watch doesn't really serve her primary purpose. Decided to keep it any way after further research into hourly signal watches. It seems as though they all have the same problem, a very quite alarm/hourly signal.

 "Wife loves it" 2009-09-09
By Moo Cow (New Mexico)
Gift for my wife and she loves it. She had never been that much of a watch wearer but now she wears this all the time. She probably has not had it off once in the last month. She says it is very comfortable and she showers, cleans the house and even sleeps with it on. She loves always being able to know what time it is with our busy schedules. It is a perfect digital watch for women; she does not like analog watches and this tells her seconds, the day of the week, the date, and other time zones. She also loves the color pink. She likes this type of watch cause it makes her feel young like a kid but she can still get away with wearing it with about anything. So I'm happy with it and my wife too.

 "color faded" 2009-07-28
By nameless (morgan hill, ca United States)
My main complaint with this watch is how quickly the nice pink color faded.

Within a couple of months, probably due to chlorine in the pool, it faded to a dirty grey-ish pink tone.

I was disappointed that this would happen with a watch meant for the water.

 "Good...Not Great" 2009-12-03
By Timber R6 (Cary, NC)
Recently purchased this for my girlfriend for Christmas. I own other G-Shock watches and could not be happier with mine, but this one let me down a little. I'm sure the watch is of G-shock quality and would last forever but there are several little annoyances with this one. As another user said the dolphin icon is odd and may take some time to get used to. Also when the minuets change there is some strange flipping in the numbers before the new minute pops up, that was very annoying. I also did not like that it did not show the Day on the screen, and it seems like it would take forever to enter anything into the data bank, doing one letter/number at a time, scrolling through the alphabet each time. Granted I did not read the instructions and you may be able to adjust some things but I am used to other G-shock watches, that don't have these "features". Overall the size, shape and appearance were Great and what I expected. I opted to return this one and go with the BG3000-8, which has a pink bezel, I think she will like that one more.

 "love it!" 2009-12-02
By B. Coleman (STL, MO)
Perfect for me!! I do some running & mountain biking & work out at the gym. I used to use my Ipod for the time & whatnot, but that got real old quick! I considered buying a Nike Triax, but after about a week of thinking it over, I decided against the look. I found this watch & read the reviews & thought it would be good to try. I've had it for about a month & I love it! It has everything I wanted plus I can program some important numbers in it. My husband thought it was silly, but I told him that I don't memorize any numbers since everything goes in the cell phone - so if I were robbed or something (which is likely in some areas I travel to outside the US) I would still have some access to emergency numbers. Also it's comfortable to wear, durable & isn't too big & masculine!

"Ugh, I hate this watch" 2009-11-25
By Lesscrafted (Anchorage, AK)
I have worn Timex Ironmans for about as long as I can remember. I wanted a change, my huband has always touted a giant G-shock for as long as I can remember, so I stepped off the ledge.

What a waste of time money and energy!

1) This watch is not intuitive; you can't simply zap through it and figure it out-- thou shalt break out manual or you will NEVER be able to even set it.

2) Strap & watch body-- It'd been more comfortable if I had built the thing out of an old frozen orange juice can

3) Mobil icons; spinning globe and flickering whale make me want to sink this thing to the bottom of the ocean! When the minute changes the digital numbers do this rapid change over thing-- ANNOYING TO NO END!

4)Horrible to do any recalls/ laps etc; getting to the splits etc is like talking to the IRS.

On the plus and the only reason it gets a star-- the built in face guards are great especially if you are really active and prone knocking your watch on things like a door frame as you turn a corner-- oh, and you can set so you know how many days you've owned it.

Yuck... what a disappointment.

"The best sports watch I've ever owned..." 2009-12-31
By T. L. Schultz (Oregon)
Had this watch for over a year now and its still going strong and looking good. Color is VERY light purple; much lighter than picture. Love the chunky, heavy feel to it. Glass face is still in pristine condition thanks to the rubber "bumpers." I use the alarm and running mode features, and also have several time zones programmed in. Some dirt does get trapped under the bumpers and around white buttons. But would DEFINITELY BUY THIS WATCH AGAIN. Plan on ordering another in a different color.

"Watch "was" cute. After 3 weeks, the side button fell off. Casio repair was TOTALLY useless" 2009-09-03
By maggie
The first baby G I bought was great, lasted for more than 2 yrs and still going. I bought another one for my younger daughter. After 3 wks (1 month from date of order), one of the buttons fell off. My daughter wear it to swimming. She is not an active child. So I sent it in for repair. I got a quote of $30 plus tax, shipping for a $50+ watch to replace the button!!

I was shocked it is not covered under the warranty. So I called the service representative According to her, warranty covers only the mechanistic functioning of the watch. Everything can fall off but if it works, then you are out of luck. But again, they can say you abuse the watch. So I said can't it be a quality control issues? She said, there is no recall. I said not necessary a recall type just manufacturing problem. She said if so, then I would have seen it once I open the box and their QC is 100% !!!!!! Wow, I am amaze. I need to work in Casio manufacturing. She said, "I am not saying it is your child but maybe she hit it somewhere..." At this point I felt that this lady was just saying anything she wants (100% QC!!!)

I said I want to talk to the supervisor, she said "no" since this is not an issue for sup. I insisted and finally someone who claim to be a manager talked to me (This "manager" even got my name wrong). Repeated the whole thing plus that I used tapes to tape the watch onto the box. She said that (the tape) was also a problem!!! I replied that it was done to prevent the watch from "jumping" around during shipping. Wow, now I know that baby G needs to breath so it cannot be taped. Then said my daughter is young, active .... I shut her up by saying, this watch claimed to be for sports. If she cannot jump, swim in it then what good is it? There was no dents or deep scatches on the watch (I want to say no scratch but I never know). She said she will see what she can do and call me. We shall see.

And one reviewer mentioned that the watch gets stuff on it. This one did. Maybe because of the daily swimming my daughter did. That was also a problem she mentioned about this watch not being covered under warranty.

I can understand that it may not be covered but the first representative was totally abnoxious. Telling me that it CANNOT be casio's problem. I will not buy a casio product anymore because many camera owners reported problem with their warranties too.

"This is a terrible watch" 2009-05-02
By ktwolf (Laurens, NY)
This is a terrible watch! The features are hard to figure out, and the buttons are difficult to use. The watchcase is huge, but the numerals are too small to read easily and the bands across the face obscure some of the writing on the watch. It's also fairly heavy. I've had Baby-G's before, and this particular style was a BIG disappointment. I'm sending it back.
