Ok, so I wear a Burberry most of the time, which is a beautiful entry level high end (if that makes any sense) watch. My dream watch is an IWC Portuguese automatic, and I will never wear a "designer" watch, so I know what a good timepiece is. It came time to get my dad a watch for father's day 2009 and I wanted something with a scratch proof crystal, which this is, and I wanted it for under $100, and I wanted it to be versatile enough to wear with work clothes, a polo, or even business casual attire. Guess what dad got for fathers day.... the G-Shock. He loves it, wears it every day, and I know for a fact that he abuses the hell out of it.

This watch has been thru the mill and back a few times - all functions intact, cleans easily, attractive AND shock resistant. Great for someone who works hard with their hands. Good looking as well.

So I've worn this watch for about 6 months now, so I have a pretty good idea of its capabilities and limitations.
PROS: It looks great (minus the band). Obviously it's going to be rugged since it's a G-Shock. The hour and minute hands stand out well against the black background. While the hands get in the way of the digital information, it's only slightly and you can still make out all the details. The back-light is ample. It strikes a good balance between displaying information and not blinding you.
CONS: Setting the analog hands is cumbersome, but not impossible. It just takes some time and patience. The band has an alligator-type pattern on it, which I do NOT like. They should have continued the resin material down to the clasp from the bezel. I deduct one style point from the star rating because of the band. It's borderline tacky.

Strap and bezel design are great. The hands are in the way of the digital display that makes it hard to read the digital time. Digital time does not show up well in bright light, but hands do. Automatic hand adjustment is nice and convenient, you can switch between day and date digitally very easily which is a good feature.
Programming is failry staright forward and there was no fogging or malfunctions after diving with it. Count down timers worked well.

I ordered this watch for my husband and he loved it. He loves that is is stylish yet durable enough to wear everyday. He is especially thrilled with the analog and digital faces. I would definately buy this again!!
