I have had the watch for several weeks. It was easy to set and has kept perfect time. It is a handsome watch and is light weight. It has a double mechanism on the watchband to prevent loss. I am pleased so far.

This watch is one of the gems of the hundreds of watch models designed and produced by Casio. Its digital display is large and clear and its buttons are easily accessible. It is lighter and more compact than other Pathfinder watches and it is packed with features.
The benefit of being solar powered is not so much for the fact that you don't have to buy batteries, but more for the fact that the watch never needs to be opened (thereby reducing its waterproof integrity).
If you live in North America, Europe, Russia or Japan the atomic timekeeping feature makes timekeeping reliable and worry-free. Unfortunately users in Africa, the Middle East, Australia and remote areas of the globe will not have access to this feature. For example, the watch would/could not access a signal in the KBL (Kabul, Afghanistan) time zone.
The watch band is titanium and is of reasonably good quality, although it doesn't feel as solid as a stainless steel band (which is also heavier). Prospective buys should also purchase a cheap watch band pin remover (no more than $5) to remove or add links to the band. While this can also be done at a jeweller, it may need to be done again so given their cheap price it just makes economic sense to own one yourself.
The electroluminescent backlight works great.
The only drawback is that the alarm is not loud enough. This is common with most sealed and solar powered watches. It's not a show stopper though. I would definitely recommend this watch to someone else.

I originally purchased the casio paw 1300 1v with the rubber band, and ended up trading it in for this model with the titanium band. I have to tell you the titanium band is much better and it seems as though the watch fits better. All of the functions of the watch work great and accurate. As said in previous remarks you do have to take the watch off to get the exact temperature reading but other than that barometer and altimeter work fine. I was really happy with Amazons packaging and delievery service, the watch had more protective plastic around it than needed but hey it kept the watch prestine! I have nothing but good things to say for this watch. Im heading up to Big Bear tomorrow and will be using it for my hike to the peak!

Spent a lot of time reviewing other watches, and this seemed to be the best value for the features offered - and had the best reviews. My wife bought it for me and I couldn't be more pleased. Out of the box, the compass is right on, and the altimeter is only 20 ft. off the google earth altitude for my house. Haven't travelled with it yet, but I'll test it abroad next month. Despite the large size, the watch is very light and I forget I'm wearing it. For those looking at Suunto or similar watches, I highly recommend looking at this model watch which has significantly better customer reviews. I really value the amazon customer reviews when I shop, so I thought I'd post one myself!

I have had this watch now for a year so I can write about my experience with it. I am satisfied with this watch in general. The time is super accurate. The world time function is super nice because of all the travel I do. The compass feature has come in handy a couple of times on my hunting trips so I like it. I wish it stayed on display a bit longer. I don't use the barometer function often so I can't write much about it except that the graph showing the falling and rising pressure is nice.
Now to the cons. First the thermometer is almost useless unless you take it off and let it sit away from your body for a while. I was hunting in a tree last week and the watch was indicating 80 degrees. I took it off my wrist and let it sit on a branch for about 30 minutes and the reading dropped from 80 to 40. You draw your own conclusions. Other drawbacks is that the metal body of the watch is soft and it nicks easy if you come in contact with a rough surface like concrete or brick. The metal band after a bit became full of scrathes and mars because of its softness but I did not care. You maybe able to save a few bucks and get a less featured watch if you don't need the compass function. Overall, I love it and depend on it a lot.
